Country Barn Market: September 15-16, 2017

In my last post, I mentioned my upcoming live market next month: Country Barn Market. This indoor/outdoor market will take place at a charming vintage barn near Olney, Illinois, and will feature vintage finds, antiques, handmade crafts and more. The host, Kim, reached out to me earlier this summer to invite me to set up a booth at the market, and I'm delighted to be a part of it. The market will take place:

Friday, September 15th, 2017

12:00pm to 6:00pm

Saturday, September 16th, 2017

10:00am to 4:00pm

$2.00 admission with free parking

2451 E IL Hwy 250

Noble, Illinois

I think we can all agree that a vintage market at the beginning of fall is cannot happen without lots of blanket scarves! Luckily I still had several yards of flannel from last year to get me started.

As soon as I worked my way through last year's flannel, I hopped over to my nearest fabric store and stocked up on some more great colors. Last year's foray into flannel taught me some valuable lessons about both flannel composition and good fringing technique, so I had a better idea what to look for this year. I actually passed over most of the "seasonal plaid apparel collection" because the cottons were too thick to make comfortable scarves, and I think I've now got a good selection of lightweight, soft flannels in a lovely variety of colors. I've got something for everyone!

And don't forget, I've still got a few scarves left from last year! I have chosen not to list any of my new flannels in my shop until AFTER my market, because it takes over an hour to photograph, edit, and list each new item I put online. It's a lot of work if I end up selling out of them in a live market, so I'll be doing all that work if, and only if, I still have those colors left at the end of September.

One of the scarves still available in my shop from last year. See all the online blanket scarf options here.

I've also got several infinity scarves from last year, and I'm using some of my leftovers from last year to make even more for the upcoming market. Like this blue one--perhaps my all-time favorite flannel--which will soon be made into 4 double loop infinity scarves.

In short, you want to be at this market! I'll be bringing my entire online inventory as well as piles and piles of exclusively in-person blanket scarves. Plus I won't be the only great vendor there! Check out some of these other adorable displays that will be there:

Hello again, long time no see, as always.... Let's be honest. I'm a terribly inconsistent blogger. I know this, you know this, it's an unfortunate but indisputable fact. I have dreams of updating the
